Since 2010, SMT - Services Machinery Trucks - has rapidly expanded its dealership network in Africa and is now active in more than 17 African countries.
In 2015, to further accelerate international growth, SMT acquired the Kuiken Group. In the Netherlands, that dealership dates back to 1946, when the partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment began. From its early days, Kuiken built a strong reputation in trading and maintaining construction equipment. VCM, the brand name for the Volvo CE dealership in Belgium and Luxembourg, has been active since 1984 and became part of the Kuiken Group in 1992. In 1993, the Sennebogen brand was added.
In 2017, SMT acquired the Volvo CE dealership in Great Britain. Their experience dates back to 1962 with a privately owned dealership.
In 2022, SMT entered the U.S. market for construction equipment by acquiring Texas-based ROMCO Equipment Co. In 2023, SMT continued its expansion in the U.S. with the acquisition of Sierra Machinery, extending operations throughout West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
2024 marked the year when SMT diversified into crushing & screening and environmental & recycling solutions through the acquisition of AGGPRO, based in Great Britain. AGGPRO distributes premium brands such as McCloskey, GIPO, Jonsson, Lippmann, McCloskey Environmental, and CRS NI.
In 2025, SMT completed the acquisition of the Pols Group in the Netherlands to strengthen its portfolio in recycling technology, ground-suction, and turf care solutions. Additionally, ROMCO was appointed as the exclusive dealer for the entire state of Texas during this year.
