Emilie Brulé

My name is Emilie Brulé, I’m 29 years old and I’ve been working at SMT as a Rental Co-ordinator for just over a year. I live in Tervuren and joined SMT because I was looking for a new challenge, with more stability and opportunities for career progression.

Before joining SMT, I worked in the aviation sector on a shift basis. I deliberately wanted to move in a different direction, with more regular hours and greater responsibility. I’ve certainly found that here. Right from the start, I was given a great deal of trust and autonomy in my role, combined with the support of a strong and committed team.

In my role, I assist customers looking to hire machinery. I always strive to find the right solution for the customer and act as the point of contact should any issues arise. This involves a lot of liaising between different departments, with a customer-focused approach always at the heart of what I do.

What I’m most proud of...

Is the personal growth I’ve achieved in such a short time. In a sector that was completely new to me, I’ve learnt an enormous amount. I work very independently, but at the same time I collaborate closely with colleagues. That combination has really helped me to grow stronger in my job.

What makes my job so interestingis that every enquiry is different. It remains a challenge to find the right solution for the customer time and time again. You’re constantly learning and applying that experience to subsequent cases. That constant learning curve is what makes the work so fascinating.

The family atmosphere at SMT is very tangible for me: you can turn to anyone. The door is always open, whether for work-related questions or just a casual chat. That creates a very accessible and open atmosphere.

The moments that will certainly stay with me are the events at SMT. Especially the farewell to our buildings before the demolition began and the surprise that went with it. Moments like that show just how unique the atmosphere at SMT is.

Why should someone choose SMT today?

Because here you get the chance to grow, learn and develop yourself in an environment where initiative and responsibility are genuinely encouraged.
