Volvo launches 90-tonne crawler excavator
The EC950F crawler excavator from Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) offers the perfect combination between power and stability to handle high capacity in the toughest conditions The EC950F is equipped with a 450kW Volvo D16 engine that delivers high torque at low engine speeds and meets the latest international Stage V emissions standard. The EC950F is designed for the toughest applications. Experience superior digging power, especially when working with hard and heavy materials, thanks to the constant high hydraulic pressure. The optimised hydraulic system increases pumping power for fast and smooth operation, while the electro-hydraulic system regulates pressure on demand and reduces internal losses in the hydraulic circuit. In addition, the EC950F comes with an adjustable boom-swing priority function.
Volvo's unique ECO Mode helps the EC950F achieve excellent fuel efficiency. ECO Mode optimises the hydraulic system to optimise use of available hydraulic flow and reduce losses, while the integrated working mode allows the operator to choose the best working mode for the task at hand: choice of I (idle), F (fine), G (general), H (heavy) and P (max power).
The excavator delivers high capacity per bucket for more tonnes per hour and can be fitted with a range of Volvo accessories including universal, heavy and extremely reinforced buckets. For unique applications, Volvo can offer customised attachments to develop the right solution and achieve ultimate excavation results. And to increase machine versatility, the machine control system can store settings for up to 20 different attachments. This allows the operator to preset hydraulic flow and pressure via the monitor in the cab.
THE OPERATOR'S CHOICE
The EC950F's excellent stability means that operators can work with confidence in the most challenging environments. The well-balanced and robust machine has a large track width and length, a hydraulically extendable undercarriage and an optimised counterweight.
All machine interfaces - including joysticks, keyboard and LCD display - are ergonomically positioned and designed for maximum control and efficiency. Smart features such as the optional Dig Assist - powered by Volvo Co-Pilot - help the operator dig more efficiently. The low-noise and spacious cab further enhances comfort.
Convenience and safety are improved thanks to a large entrance, including highly visible handrails and conveniently placed steps, as well as anti-slip plates. The optional FOG (Falling Object Guard) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) provide extra peace of mind when working in tough conditions. The machine will be equipped with the Volvo Smart View system as standard and optional single rear and side cameras are available.

To minimise 'downtime', the new Volvo tine system allows you to replace tines in minutes: position, push and engage, it's that simple. Moreover, the essential maintenance points are also easily accessible through the wide-opening and conveniently placed compartment doors with central and surrounding walkways.
