Volvo launches new 90-tonne hydraulic excavator
The 90-tonne EC950F crawler excavator from Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) offers the perfect balance of power and stability to handle large volumes in the toughest applications. Equipped with a 450 kW Volvo D16 engine that delivers high torque at low rpm and meets the latest international emissions standards, this machine is designed for fast and efficient on-site production.
OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE
Even in the most extreme applications, the EC950F rises to the challenge. Enjoy superior digging force, especially with hard, heavy materials, thanks to consistently high hydraulic pressure. The optimised hydraulic system increases pump power for fast, smooth movements, while the electro-hydraulic system controls flow on demand and reduces internal losses in the hydraulic circuit. In addition, the EC950F features a boom offset priority valve.
Volvo's exclusive ECO mode enables the EC950F to achieve exceptional fuel efficiency. ECO mode optimises the hydraulic system to reduce flow and pressure losses, while the integrated work mode allows the operator to choose the best work mode for the job from I (idle), F (fine), G (general), H (hard) and P (max power).
The 90-tonne excavator has a high-capacity bucket to handle more tonnes per hour and can be fitted with a variety of Volvo attachments, including general purpose, reinforced and ultra-reinforced buckets. For special cases, Volvo can offer customised attachments to develop the best solution for perfect excavation. To increase the machine's versatility, the attachment management system can store up to 20 different attachments, allowing the operator to pre-set hydraulic flow and pressure via the in-cab display.
OPERATOR CHOICE
Thanks to the EC950F's exceptional stability, operators can work with confidence in the toughest environments. The well-balanced, solid machine features a wide track width and length, a retractable undercarriage and an optimised counterweight.
All machine interfaces - including joysticks, keypad and LCD screen - are ergonomically positioned and designed for maximum control and efficiency. Intelligent features, such as the optional Dig Assist (working with Volvo Co-Pilot), help the operator to work more efficiently. The spacious, soundproof cab further enhances comfort.
The large entrance, including highly visible handrails and well-positioned steps, as well as anti-skid plates, increase ease of use and safety. For added safety and durability, optional FOG (Falling Object Guard) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) certified cabs give you peace of mind when working in difficult conditions. For better visibility, the EC950F can be fitted with rear and side cameras or Volvo Smart View, which provides a 360° view.

To minimise downtime, Volvo's new tooth system allows teeth to be replaced in minutes: position, push and engage the tooth, it's that simple. What's more, the main service points are easily accessible from the central and peripheral walkways, via conveniently positioned covers and wide-opening hatches.
